A slightly happier one today after the slight depressing content of last week-some fitness/motivational books that I love reading and are great for inspiration/fitness knowledge!
1)The world’s fittest book
This book will ALWAYS be at the top of my list. It’s incredible. Life changing. Did It make me 100% realise that I should have taken sports science for a degree? Oh definitely. But either which way its flipping amazing- stuffed to the brim with fitness advice, recipes, amazing stories of Ross Edgley’s fitness attempts and many a smouldering picture of the man himself. It has everything you could want in a book.
2)Relentless
This was actually the first book I read for the 75 Hard Challenge- and crikey it’s good. I’ve never felt so motivated and inspired by a book. Grover is Michael Jordan’s Personal Trainer (ish but that’s not how he defines himself) and shows throughout the book how he built Jordan up to be the relentless sports monster he is. Definitely worth a read.
3)First Man in
Wow. What a book. I discovered Ant Middleton after watching SAS Who Dares Wins and it’s safe to say, I Was smitten. After reading his book, I’d basically booked the wedding venue. He’s incredible. This book is less fitness focused and more focused on Middleton’s life in the military as a sniper and his mental health in regards to that, but it’s definitely worth a read if you’re looking to be mentally inspired/motivated. Also, his other SAS Pals have books- Foxy, and Ollie- both are also worth a read.
4)Mud Sweat and Tears
Ahhh Bear. Ahhh my gorgeous lovely bear. What a man.
Anyone who knows me knows my love for bear. But all jokes aside- hes had a pretty incredible life and he talks about it all in his autobiography. How he broke his back and then climbed Everest a year later. Incredible- and seriously great if you need inspiring. He’s also written a load of other books including ‘true grit’- which I would definitely recommend.
5)Pants of Perspective
So I’ve just realised the disgusting amount of male books I’ve just referenced. Therefore gotta finish it off with one of the most inspiring women I know- Anna Mcnuff. “Pants of Perspective” details her run across the length of new Zealand (yes, she ran the length of New Zealand) and all the mental and physical blocks she faced along the way. It’s seriously motivating and it took all I had not to book a flight to New Zealand a run the length of it after finishing this book. It’s a serious banger.
Theres about a billion other books I could have recommended here, but these are some of my favourites. So instead of switching on the Netflix tonight, why don’t you pick up one of these bad boys. Get inspired.
